From Marilyn:
The twinkle in her eyes is still there. Marilyn raised five children and managed to find time for working during the last 50 years. To Marilyn’s credit, she never made it to Los Angeles and therefore never drove a school bus. Instead she spent many of her working hours at Bonded Spirits in Oconomowoc where she took special note if any school bus drivers frequented her store too often.

From Marilyn - “ I work part time. I went to Hawaii for two weeks last winter. ‘Got two airplane tickets for anywhere in the world” for working for CL&D Graphics for 20 years.”

Jim writes, “ Kathie and I retired in 1994 from school teaching after 34 years.  I taught English and social studies at Fort Atkinson High School all 34 years.  Kathie taught English there for 25 years.

We have a daughter, Judie (Mark), and five grandkids.

We keep busy by going to movies and playing lots of golf.  We do a lot of reading and are season ticket holders to cultural events in Milwaukee- symphony, opera, ballet, and the theater.

We have done a lot of traveling too, including Wingers!

Retirement has been a hoot!  Go Cubs!”

From Mary:
“Counse” graduated from the National College of Education and  moved to Louisville KY. She moved to the Chicago area a few years later and is still there.  

Mary has been an active elementary teacher for years.  She has also made educational videos and has been active in the NEA.  She was instrumental in creating a spirit of cooperation in negotiating contracts for teacher sin the Glenview school system.

Mary has three daughters.

From Roger:
Roger and Lynn married in 1961.  They have three children.

Roger started out in the Air Force after high school and then went to work for Roundy’s where he stayed until retirement in 1996 after 34 years.

Roger and Lynn moved from Menomonee Falls to Slinger (Big Cedar Lake) in 1983 so Roger could walk out the back door and go swimming, boating and fishing like he did growing up on Okauchee Lake.  He and Doug Smith are still friends (we think.)

Roger likes to golf, go to casinos (watch them gamble?) and travel to the south.

From Tom:
After high school, Tom got his BSEE at Mass. Inst. of Technology and his MSEE from Univ. of Miami. Purdue.  He served two years as an electronics Officer in the Navy.  He and Mary married in 1965, and Tom joined Allis Chalmers in Milwaukee.

In 1974, Tom moved to New Orleans to set up a new plant for Allis Chalmers.  When AC sold half of the business to Siemens,  Tom became Plant Mgr for Siemens, then Director of Electronics Development.  During all his time, the Thieles were very active in the Lutheran Church. The family, Tom, Mary and their five children, enjoy sailing, travel and have been active in coral singing. 

After being away for 18 years, Tom & family moved back to Wisconsin and Tom took the position of Director of APP. Best Power in Wisconsin Rapids. Most recently, Tom has been consulting as a project and product manager in the field of Uninterruptable Power Supplies.  He and his wife, Mary, are currently building a home on Silver Lake in Oconomowoc where they plan to move in 2007.   They currently have 6 grandchildren.

From Barbara:
Barbara kept the Shell charge cards and used the money to attend Spencerian College. Being an “angel with a broken wing” made her easy prey for an IRS agent named Dave Torrison with whom Barbara has been married since 1957.
 
Barbara and Dave have 4 children. Dave remained an IRS agent for his entire career. Barbara worked in administration for the Prudential Insurance Co and then the Random Lake School System. The Torrisons do a lot of European traveling in their spare time.

Barbara adds, “ I just enjoy family and whatever comes our way!”
